Quattro – a taste of light

QU MDW Temporary Showroom | Via Cernaia 7, Milano | 08-13 April 2025 | H. 10.00-21.00

Concept: Parisotto+ Formenton Architetti

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2025, QU, an emerging Italian company in the technical-decorative lighting sector, is present for the fourth time in the heart of Brera with an installation that tells about vision of light.

More than just a functional element, light serves as an expressive tool capable of transforming spaces and influencing emotions, presented through a new installation that offers an almost synesthetic experience.

From April 8th to 13th, the temporary showroom of QU will once again be hosted in a typical bourgeois palace in Milan and in its “secret” garden, well protected by the surrounding buildings and the wall facing Via Cernaia.

The installation, entitled “Quattro – a taste of light”, is the fourth off-site episode resulting from the collaboration between the Ravenna-based company and its art director Aldo Parisotto of Parisotto+Formenton Architetti. This year, the project centers on the relationship between light and conviviality, proposing a discovery journey articulated in four moments: from the garden to the interior spaces, different hospitality experiences are encountered, each designed for specific modes of use and different times of the day.

Throughout the journey, light harmonizes with the four environments, modulating experiences with varying degrees of intimacy and atmosphere, much like a tasting where each sample composes a sensory symphony.

From the gate on Via Cernaia, visitors are invited to embark on a tour through an unexpected perspective of the garden. This preview, visible even from the street, piques curiosity and invites to a pause, signaling to passersby the opening—just steps away—of a small world ready to offer a unique experience in light.

In the garden, an en plein air setup arranges bistrot tables on an outdoor platform, nestled among camellias and beneath the grand magnolia, allowing guests to enjoy the brisk spring air in a break from the bustle of the Design Week. The atmosphere is completed by the soft glow of battery-powered lanterns and discreet lighting fixtures set amid the greenery, which create a refined ambiance. From the outside, one can enjoy a privileged view of the mini-kitchen arranged in the greenhouse, where light is skillfully used to accentuate and enliven fine dining, transforming into a suggestive glow in the evening.

The interiors host three distinct environments: in the first room, a U-shaped chef’s table fosters an informal hospitality where attention to gestures lies at the heart of the experience, enhanced by a site-specific chandelier that floods the space with diffused light—a symbol of QU’s ability to create bespoke solutions.

The second room, intimate and secluded, is dedicated to a large round table that invites a more prolonged pause and conversation, where the selection of lighting fixtures from the Product Book 2025 enhances the atmosphere. Finally, the working lounge, located in the rear spaces of the house, is dedicated to relaxation and relationships, featuring a living area and a spacious common table.

The entire journey thus becomes a spokesperson for QU’s vision – indoor. outdoor. bespoke – perfectly combining tailor-made and standard choices in the four main environments. Furthermore, by using only four collections of lighting fixtures for both interiors and exteriors, the company’s mission becomes clear: to offer a single lighting solution capable of ensuring design coherence and continuity wherever it is applied.
